Morning Skincare Routine | How To Look Fresh In The Morning

We can’t emphasize how important it is to have a good night skincare routine. But does that mean your morning skincare routine should be a secondary priority? Absolutely not! Yes, you need a good night skincare routine before the regenerative process starts (during sleep). However, a good morning skincare routine is necessary for preservation and protection.

The next question is, do you have enough time in the morning to follow a “12-step” skincare routine? NO? That is exactly why you need a precise yet effective morning skincare routine, and here is one you can follow easily.

7 Step Morning Skincare Routine

Step 1: Start Slowly With Something Refreshing

Skipping your alarm and then hustling is your first mistake of the day. Give yourself enough time in the morning and start with something refreshing, such as lemon water. Hydrating your body after waking up is really helpful for your skin and boosts the functioning of your body organs. If you can find time for morning exercise, then that’s a huge bonus.

Step 2: Wash Your Skin, Preferably With Cleansing Oil

Should you wash your skin in the morning? The answer is yes, and here is why. First, it is highly possible that you may have used oil-based skincare products before going to sleep. So now, you have to lift up those products. Second, our skin renews at night, and cell production increases as well. That means skin cleaning becomes necessary to wake up sleepy skin, remove impurities, dead skin cells, and oil from your skin.

Pour an oil-based cleanser in your palm and heat it up before you massage it gently on your face and neck for a minute or two. Rinse your face with lukewarm water and leave it damp.

Step 3: Use A Suitable Water-Based Cleanser For Your Morning Cleaning Routine

The last thing you want in your morning cleaning routine is a chemical-based cleanser. Just pick a low PH water-based cleanser for deep cleansing and avoiding any redness on your skin. Properly cleansing your skin will keep it calm and set a base for good morning makeup (if you do it).

Now, as your face is already damp (from step two), work your cleanser into a foam and apply it all over your skin (let it sit for a few 2-3 minutes). Then rinse your face with cold water and use a clean washcloth to dry your skin (make sure you don’t rub it).

Step 4: Apply a Toner

Toner is probably the most underrated skincare product in a morning skincare routine. Well, it is actually is the first barrier, a protective layer for your skin. A good toner hydrates your skin and balances its PH. Put few drops on your fingertips and apply them evenly to your face. It is better to avoid using cotton pads for toner application.

Step 5: Use a Good Morning Serum

Serum application is arguably the most important (and expensive) part of your morning skincare routine. Serum provides strong protection from sun rays and acts as a protective shield against dust, smoke, and other similar skin-damaging agents. The best thing about serums is that they provide protection for a long time, justifying their hefty price tags.

Step 6: Moisturizer and Sunscreen

Do not mix the benefits of using a moisturizer and sunscreen. To be honest, sufficiently hydrating your skin should be an integral part of your morning skincare routine. Once you use a moisturizer, now is the time to apply sunscreen. If someone asks you how important it is to use sunscreen? Tell them it is as important as drinking water or paying your parking tickets. However, make sure you use sunscreen that suits your skin.

Step 7: Take A Healthy Breakfast

No skin care product can replace what a healthy breakfast does for your skin. Try adding blueberries and mangoes to your breakfast with water as a “healthy” beverage.  Blueberries are rich in vitamin C and K, while mangoes add antioxidants such as beta-carotene. Water? Well, it keeps your skin hydrated.

The Takeaway

Keep your morning skincare routine short but effective. Start with hydrating your body; cleanse your skin gently and properly; apply a toner, skin serum, and a moisturizer. Apply sunscreen as the last step in your morning skincare routine. Oh, don’t forget to have a healthy, vitamin-rich breakfast.

  1. I really love the morning skin care routine . As an individual my morning routine was not good at all so i will definitely start with drinking a glass of lemon water . I have learnt that I need a water based cleanser for face.

  2. Я узнал, что мне нужно очищающее средство для лица на водной основе.
